Executive Director of Communication JOB GOAL:
The Public Records Coordinator analyzes, processes, and responds to public records requests in compliance with North Carolina General Statutes and Johnston County School Board Policies.
This important position serves as the main point of contact for parties requesting public records and coordinates with various departments to ensure those requests are fulfilled.
The Public Records Coordinator works with the Executive Director of Communication and legal counsel, evaluates whether any record or part of a record is exempt, redacts records accordingly, and prepares appropriate responses.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Administrative Services, Business, Computer Science or a related field required; supplemented by three years of experience in providing administrative support.
Experience in local government, preferred.
Experience in records management, specifically in relation to NC Public Records Law, preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to navigate and maintain electronic record management systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
Knowledge of document management practices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Implement procedures, guidelines, and controls for storage, retrieval, tracking and filing of active and inactive records.
Implement, administer and facilitate staff training as needed.
Monitor and maintain compliance with laws and regulations related to public records.
Respond to public information requests, coordinate the retrieval of information and address questions as necessary.
Maintain a comprehensive records retention program.
Perform administrative duties as needed.
Active participant in JCPS Communication Team Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry audio/visual equipment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
Ability to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence.
Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid NC driver's license.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, teachers, students, administrators, community leaders, agency representatives and others.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
